About

I build software and live in the mountains.

I'm Lorenzo. Born in Ticino, the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland; now based in Lausanne. Founder of Alpine Code, building open-source agentic AI infrastructure. Day job: engineering at Frontiers. I've been writing code since I was a kid and haven't really stopped.

Alpine Code is where I help companies cut through complexity — enterprise architecture, AI integrations, automation. Most software problems turn out to be communication problems in disguise.

Right now I'm heads-down on agentic AI: autonomous agents that actually do things. MCP servers, multi-agent orchestration, and the unglamorous tooling that makes any of it useful in production. Not chatbots — agents with hands.

Most of it ships under Alpine Code, including a personal assistant that runs much of my life from a Mac Mini at home — calendar, inbox, the lights, the heating at the cabin, the works.

I live off-grid in a mountain hut at Baturei in the Ticino Alps, slowly renovating it across the years. Solar panels, Starlink, a Turing RK1 cluster, no commute, very good espresso. When I'm not at a keyboard you'll find me on a road or mountain bike, on a rope, or underwater. Sci-fi over Marvel — Dune, Arrival, Ex Machina.
